On 24th of Shaban in 1312 AH, the grand reviver of Islam, the Islamic leader and jurist Ayatollah Mirza Muhammad Hasan Shirazi departed this world in the holy city of Samarra. With his famous fatwa against tobacco, the grand jurist Ayatollah Mirza Hasan Shirazi led a wide uprising against the massive British colonialism in Iran. Despite the pressures from inside and outside the Muslim community, Mirza Hasan Shirazi rescued Iran from the most powerful colonialist of the time. It is noteworthy that the pure body of Mirza Hasan Shirazi was taken to holy Najaf and was buried at Imam Ali's holy shrine.
