Rajab 3rd 1437 - Shia Rights Watch, a human rights organization has released a statement condemning the inhumane massacre of religious minorities by the Nigerian army. In this statement, SRW also urged the human rights foundations to take appropriate measures in this regard. In recent days, hundreds of dead bodies of Shia Muslims were found in a mass grave in Zariya Township in Nigeria. Previously, the Nigerian army had opened fire to a congregation of Shia Muslims in this area who were performing their religious rituals. In the heavy gunfire by the Nigerian army, nearly 300 Shia Muslims were surrounded, killed or taken to unknown places. Local evidences show that the dead bodies found in the mass grave belong to the Shia Muslims who were taken into custody by the country's army. SRW vehemently condemns all such massacres of Shia Muslims in Nigeria and other parts of the world, and it urges the international human rights organizations to perform their legal and human responsibility and prosecute the killers of Shia Muslims in Zariya Township.
